Sri Satya Sai Baba’s centennial birth anniversary was marked by grand celebrations all over the country and the world. The most spectacular one out of these was a magnificent 2000-drone light show by BotLab Dynamics at Sai Baba’s birthplace in Puttaparthi. We curated a deeply moving experience bringing together immersive sound design, laser lights and fireworks for the Sri Satya Sai Trust. Simultaneously, another drone show paying tribute to the beloved spiritual leader took to the skies in Bangalore, organised by One World One Family, an organisation closely associated with Sri Satya Sai Baba’s teachings.
100th Birth Anniversary of Sri Satya Sai Baba
Sri Satya Sai Baba was a beloved spiritual figure whose teachings are followed by millions of people all around the world. For his 100th birthday celebration, organisations and individuals all over the world paid their respects in a variety of ways, from philanthropic activities like blood donation drives, medical camps and community meals to showcasing his life and values through cultural programs, special prayers and meditation sessions. Baba’s birthplace place Puttaparthi, was the center of the most grandiose celebrations, with dedicated efforts to ensure international devotees could be included through live broadcasts and digital outreach initiatives.

Prasanthi Nilayam at Puttaparthi was at the forefront of honouring Sai Baba’s journey and his impact on the world. Centenary events began on 13 Nov and culminated in a grand finale on 23rd November in Puttaparthi. For the huge international gathering consisting of people from nearly 140 countries and several high-profile dignitaries, the Trust needed a celebration that matched the scale of Sri Satya Sai Baba’s vision. This is where BotLab Dynamics came in with a truly extraordinary curated show that brought together lasers, fireworks, immersive sound design and a massive 2000-drone light show that narrated the story of Sai Baba on a canvas as boundless as his vision.

Highlight Formations from Sai Baba Drone Show 2025
Sri Satya Sai Baba preached religious harmony and unity, a value beautifully showcased in the 100th centenary memento. 2000 drones formed the trophy in the sky in 3D, and 20 pyro drones provided extra flair and sparkle. Next Baba’s hand appeared with a giant cosmos above it, a formation that drew awed gasps from the gathered lakhs-strong crowd. Precise 3D representations of Prasanthi Mandir, the famous Hanuman Statue, Sai institutions like the Super Hospitals sparkled above Puttaparthi’s skyline.
Famous moments from Sai Baba’s life were also showcased in the drone show, and these all became instant crowd favourites. Sai Geetha, his beloved pet elephant, garlanded him amidst the stars of the night sky, followed by Baba granting darshan to his devotees, and the iconic moment of Sai Baba on his golden chariot during grand processions. The show closed with a close-up, precisely rendered portrait of the great man, with his signature painstakingly rendered in the sky, concluding a moving and evocative celestial tribute.

Multimedia Show Experience Curated by BotLab Dynamics
The drones started their landing sequence, but BotLab Dynamics had dreamt up a much bigger vision than just the drone light show! From the first moment at the takeoff, which started with the pure chanting of Om building up to a crescendo with the final drone reveal, to the lasers and fireworks, we showcased our expertise not just as India’s leading drone show company, but as multimedia experience curators. In one grand canvas of spectacle tied together with music and Voice of God narration, we made sure every moment of this celebration was goosebumps-worthy. The drone show was preceded by a 3-minute laser show, and the grand finale was amped up by a spectacular fireworks display. This would go on to rank not only among India’s top 10 biggest drone shows in terms of scale, but also the most visually stunning one in terms of storytelling and sheer spectacle.

The Sri Satya Sai Baba Trust was not the only organisation that understood the power of a drone light show as a celestial tribute. The One World One Family organisation in Bangalore, headed by Sri Madhusudan Sai, a close follower of Sai Baba, also created a spectacle with a 600-strong drone show stopper by BotLab Dynamics. It was an honour for us to be able to celebrate this momentous day with drone shows that took off at two different locations to write Sai Baba’s inspiring story in the very stars!
