Kullu Dussehra is famous for its unique traditions, lively processions, and deep spiritual roots. The 2026 celebration of this festival witnessed a spectacular Kullu Dussehra drone show by BotLab Dynamics. The show was held on 22nd October in Dhalpur Maidan, Kullu Valley, Himachal Pradesh, organized by the District Administration of Kullu. The drones recreated the most iconic scenes from the epic tale of the Ramayana. This was the first-ever drone show to happen in the Kullu Valley of Himachal.
What Makes Kullu Dussehra the Most Unique Festival of India
While most of India’s Dussehra events are completed within the span of one day on Vijayadashami, the Kullu Dussehra is different. It officially starts on the day of Vijayadashami and continues for a week. So, the Kullu Dussehra 2026 was celebrated from 21st to 27th October, incorporating a week-long event featuring many local traditions.

The festival is most famous for the Rath Yatra of Lord Raghunath, during which the deity’s idol is taken out for the year-long journey around the town. Hundreds of local deities from every village arrive in Kullu, perched atop intricately carved palanquins and accompanied by local musicians playing traditional instruments.
Another factor that adds to the uniqueness of the festival is that, unlike other parts of the country, no Ravana effigy is burnt in the region. Instead, Kullu Dussehra is famous for the tradition of burning old wooden sticks to celebrate the win of good over evil.
How the Kullu Dussehra Drone Show Narrated the Story of Lord Rama over the Skyline of Himachal
The Kullu drone show was a fascinating experience as it combined an aerial light show with an equally fascinating story of Lord Rama. The show narrated the integral elements of the epic, Ramayana, through the use of stunning formations in the sky. It began with the young Lord Rama and continued with his exile from the kingdom, along with showcasing prominent religious figures and elements, including Hanuman, the Sanjeevani parvat, and the ten-faced Ravana. Then, it concluded with Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya and the message of “Jai Shree Ram” projected across the sky.

The show depicted the most iconic imagery of the Ramayana epic that people remember from their childhood. It took viewers through a range of the most powerful messages of the epic, from the importance of family values and devotion to the triumph of good over evil. It was a fitting end to a befitting show that depicted the unique culture and traditions of the Kullu region.
