What Made this Pokémon Drone Show Historic

The Pokémon x BotLab Dynamics drone show at IIT Bombay's Techfest 2025 sets a milestone in entertainment by utilizing 1,500 LED drones. This was done to create the first Pokémon show ever produced in India.

This groundbreaking event was executed over three nights, December 22nd - December 24th, 2025. The show featured some of the best Pokémon characters. 1. The Pokéball Reveal

At the beginning of the event, a gigantic three dimensional Pokéball was formed in the air. The formation was perfectly symmetrical. The clarity of the 3D image and size of the Pokéball immediately attracted everyone's attention at the IIT Bombay Techfest.

2. Pikachu's Arrival in Mumbai: Auto Rickshaw Moment

The next moment brought forth a brightly colored, shiny Auto Rickshaw from Mumbai from which an excited Pikachu hops out.

The warm tones of yellow and neon street lighting combined with subtle movements illustrated the vibrant energy of Mumbai’s streets. This particular moment had to be the most relatable and exciting moment of the Pokémon event.

3. Bulbasaur, Pikachu, and Floral Festival

Bulbasaur and Pikachu are surrounded with a stunning array of blooming flowers that have been placed in garland and rangoli patterns. The twinkling fairy lights were a representative of every major festival throughout India.

This Pokémon drone show successfully symbolised the cultural links between the worldwide heritage of Pokémon with India’s traditions.

4. Charmander and Pikachu

Next, a visual rendition of Charmander and Pikachu was formed amidst the colourful shower of golden orbs. The golden orbs blew into bright spark-looking animation. 

5. Squirtle, Pikachu & Parasols in Mumbai’s Monsoon

The energy of the drone show changed entirely when Squirtle and Pikachu’s visual renditions were created in the night sky. The twirling and sparkling effect of raindrops signified the beauty of Mumbai’s monsoon season. 

6. Aerial Charisma of Charizard

A powerful sequence of events was depicted as Charizard was shown soaring through the air. It was flapping its massive wings as brightly coloured kites trailed behind it. The drone light effects were timed to accentuate the flying Charizard's majestic display. 

Charizard had another supporter, Pikachu, who was at ground level, watching as Charizard gracefully reigned and dominated the sky. This gave the viewer a layered cinematic perspective.

7. Mystery & Magic: Mew, Pikachu & The Luminescent Tree

When Mew created the luminescent tree, it teleported from left to right, leaving a trail of sparkles behind. Then, it playfully circled around Pikachu. Mew's teleportation loop combined a layering of colourful elements. It demonstrated the advanced dynamic choreography of the Pokémon universe's design.

8. Pikachu Meets India in A Saree & Kurta

When the two Pikachus were revealed dressed in traditional Indian attire (Saree/Kurta), the audience was ecstatic! The head movement, soft backlighting, and the colour of the sparkles coming from the costumes made this segment one of the most popular of any of the three days.

This was the emotional climax of the first Pokémon Drone Show in India.

9. Finale: Pokémon Logo & QR Code

At the end, the Pokémon logo was formed at the center of the canvas. The logo was in juxtaposition to a gift box which opened with a smooth animation and sparkling effects. Then, a QR code was formed in the air to offer a digitally immersive Pokémon experience to the audience.
