BotLab Dynamics' Mysuru Dasara Light Show in 2026
Mysuru Dasara celebrates the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over Mahishasura. It is Karnataka's official state festival. This grand event sees rituals, performances, and spectacles that depict the region's royal legacy.
Mysuru Dasara's drone show takes this cultural identity into the skies with its display of light drones. The Ambari formation, which evokes imagery of the royal howdah used in the Mysuru Dasara procession, is among the visuals. Other notable drone-show formations that draw from Mysuru Dasara's imagery are the Goddess Chamundeshwari, Nandi (the sacred bull of Lord Shiva), and the dancing peacock.
How 3,500 Drones Bring Mysuru Dasara's Cultural Heritage to Life
While these are all significant parts of the Mysuru Dasara, what makes this drone display unique is its scale.
The sheer scale of the formations made possible by the 3,500 drones is an experience in itself. The drone show replaces a series of still images with music-synchronized formations that bring various images and themes from Mysuru Dasara to the sky. This includes a galaxy, butterfly and lion among others. The Mysuru Dasara's cultural and religious significance, therefore, becomes a shared experience that people can enjoy under the night sky.
Cultural, Religious and National Themes in the Mysuru Dasara Drone Show
From Goddess Chamundeshwari, Nandi, Shiva, Vishnu Chakra to an Indian Soldier holding up the National Flag, Mysuru Dasara's drone show explores multiple cultural and religious themes.
It draws from the festival's eponymous city of Mysuru as well as its state of Karnataka. However, the Mysuru Dasara drone show also incorporates elements that evoke a sense of national pride. The display of the Indian National Flag, for instance, makes the Mysuru Dasara drone show a fitting tribute to India's cultural and artistic heritage.
Celebrating Southern India's Cultural Identity Through Drone Technology
From the Mysuru Dasara to the sky, BotLab Dynamics explores the themes of faith, regionalism, and patriotism through its drone show. Every formation in the drone display is an ode to Southern India's cultural and religious history.
