A BotLab Dynamics indoor drone show became the highlight of the Carelon Associates Day celebration in Bangalore! The dancer-integrated drone show was performed at the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation, Whitefield. With a 5,000-strong audience in attendance, 30 indoor drones danced with performers for a memorable curtain-raiser act. Such a tightly dancer-integrated concept was a first for Indian live events! BotLab Dynamics was already the company behind India's first indoor drone show fleet. This seamless dancer-drone performance with the Oxygen dance group added yet another first to a rather long list!

How Are Indoor Drone Shows Different From Outdoor Shows?

BotLab Dynamics is already well-known as the Indian pioneer of drone light shows. The visibility and huge scale of outdoor shows make them impossible to miss for a good 4-5 km radius! The sky is an unlimited canvas, which makes it possible to create a variety of legible images. An outdoor drone show can have anywhere from 100-10,000 drones! This number is poised to increase as BotLab continues building more drones in pursuit of even bigger drone shows.

On the other hand, indoor venues have limited space, accommodating fewer drones. This means that storytelling here has to be around abstract shapes, colour and light play. Indoor drones have been especially designed to be integrated into artist performances. This includes dance, music or theater acts. A well-choreographed indoor act brings together human artistry and technological spectacle to create an immersive, magical experience. This is why BotLab Dynamics' in-house team of designers, performers and choreographers gives it a unique edge!

Conceptualising the Carelon Indoor Show with Acme

When Acme Experience approached us with the request to engineer a bold opening act for Carelon, we were thrilled! The theme of the Associates Day event was YOU-niverse (a pun on universe). The idea was to celebrate Carelon's employees as the true stars in the company's universe. Since indoor drones naturally simulate the experience of a cosmos recreated inside a closed space, we instantly knew this would be a big hit! The indoor act was to be integrated with dancers, for which the Oxygen dance troupe was brought on board. This again worked well for us, as these dancers had worked with us before.

  • Dancer Integrated Indoor Drone Show by BotLab Dynamics

The show began with a single drone rising in the dark, representing the individual 'you'. The individual then turned into the infinite, as the single light was joined by others, recreating a spectacular mini-universe. The stars came together to form one pulsating sphere, representing the collaborative ethos of Carelon. As the sphere dispersed, the drones travelled in winding lines downwards to the stage. Now came the twist - the silhouette of a dancer was revealed, lit by the drones light!

What followed was a visually stunning choreography of dancers and drones. (The term we like to use is co-choreography.) The dancer's movements appeared to direct the motion of the drones, while the colour and lighting were synced with the music. The dancer pulled and pushed at the stream of lights, finally 'transferring' the light to another dancer at the far end of the stage - yet another surprise reveal! In the final act, the drones envelop the central dancer in a cocoon of spiralling light. They finally travel upwards towards the stage ceiling, forming concentric circles. The outermost circle blinks out of existence, followed by the inner one, till we end the show as it started - one shining star. Carelon's ethos of collective care, after all, begins with the one, the 'you'.

The Technology Behind Indoor Drone Shows

While outdoor drone shows rely on GPS for drone positioning, indoor drone shows do not use GPS. A controlled environment is set up within which the drones fly. A lengthy setup and calibration process precedes every indoor show, ensuring millimeter-level precision. Additionally, propeller guards form a protective barricade around the rotors. This ensures that close-proximity choreography is 100% safe for the artists.

The entire exterior of indoor drones is translucent, unlike that of outdoor drones. This is for 360 degree light dispersion, as indoor drones are viewed from all angles in the enclosed space. The new version of BotLab Dynamics indoor drones is equipped with brighter LEDs. These cater to all colour combinations and variations, as well as increased brightness. All our technology is designed and developed completely in-house. This means that BotLab Dynamics is able to test and iterate faster than other drone companies. Since first launching India's first indoor drone fleet a year ago, we have only strengthened our Made-in-India capabilities!

Indoor Drone Shows by BotLab Dynamics

BotLab Dynamics indoor drone shows have lit up India's most premier events. Brands and government agencies alike have queued up for a taste of this latest experiential technology. From India's first ever indoor show to this latest dancer-integrated act for Carelon, we have grown at an astonishing rate.

  • Kho Kho World Cup Opening Ceremony, Delhi

BotLab Dynamics executed India's first ever indoor drone show at the Kho Kho World Cup 2025. The opening ceremony was hosted at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, a massive venue. The Kho Kho World Cup trophy was revealed dramatically with a stream of light. The indoor drones brought their own spotlight to the reveal, adding colour and light to the highlight moment of the ceremony. We had several prestigious personalities in attendance, too! The Governor of Delhi, PT Usha, Khali, Malaika Sherawat and many others witnessed this path-breaking moment in live events.

  • Invest Karnataka Indoor Drone Show Act, Bangalore

This was our first indoor act with dancers. The Invest Karnataka event was a technology-first government event. The focus was on highlighting India's capabilities in technology and innovation. As a tech-led artistic act, our indoor drone show fits right in! With Rajnath Singh, Piyush Mishra, the Karnataka CM, Nikhil Kamath, and many others watching, we created a dance X drone performance that was very well-received.

  • EI Exhibition Indoor Show, Bharat Mandapam

The EI Exhibition 2025 at Bharat Mandapam brought many tech companies together. In fact, our own Components vertical, the BotLab Store, had also set up a booth there! A major highlight was that this space gave us enough height to create the EI logo. We proved that our in-house tech was precise enough to create legible formations. The EI drone show was such a big hit that we performed it multiple times over the course of the event!

  • Indoor Drone Show for the SGEMA, Surat

The South Gujarat Event Management Association invited us to perform at their opening ceremony. They were organising a tournament of box cricket matches. Here, we didn't have a stage with the audience watching from one angle. The challenge was to choreograph an act that had a 360 degree viewing experience. We delivered, and how!
