BotLab Dynamics had the incredible privilege of being part of history at the ICC Women’s World Cup Final 2025! A massive drone show spectacle consisting of 1000 drones lit up the skies over the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai between the two innings, becoming the highlight of the half-time performances! As the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 culminated in a spectacular display of sporting prowess and powerful emotion for India, we were honoured to be able to showcase another aspect of Indian excellence - the power of 1000 Made in India drones!
ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Makes History
We all know that there is nothing bigger than cricket in India, and this year, the performance of the Women’s Cricket Team has caught the imagination of the Indian public like never before. Stadiums all over the country have been sold out for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, and the finale between India and South Africa became etched in history before the first ball was even bowled on Sunday. We at BotLab Dynamics watched along with every other Indian as our girls in blue made us proud against an Australian team that was on a 15-match winning streak in the semifinal. As the Indian Women’s Team booked their flight to the final, we too resolved to take to the skies on Sunday to celebrate the spirit of cricket in the most spectacular way possible!
Performances During World Cup Innings Break
Quite like the Super Bowl halftime show, which has become the most awaited entertainment event in the recent past, the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 also promised an extravaganza, with a lineup that included one of India’s great singers and performers, Sunidhi Chauhan. She had earlier sung the Indian national anthem before the match. She was joined by her troupe of dancers for an electrifying performance during the innings break of the final match between India and South Africa. But the ICC World Cup organisers had a surprise in store for the packed stadium. 1000 drones suddenly appeared above the stage, pulsating in tune to the music and beats of Sunidhi Chauhan’s melodies. It was a spectacular moment that elevated an electrifying performance into an unforgettable experience!
Women’s World Cup Drone Show 2025
The show opened with the 9 icons of Navrasa, symbols drawn from the ICC’s tribute to the feelings on display during a sports match, and inspired by the Indian classical theater theory of the same name. The 9 abstract images pulsed and spun in perfect sync with the live music, making for an immersive and experiential concert event for the thousands of cricket fans. This was followed by the Women’s World Cup logo, recreated in the original purple and orange, standing out boldly against the night sky.
The highlight formation of the drone light show came next - a spectacular 3D rendition of the women’s World Cup! This was the image that was the most widely shared from the drone show celebration across Instagram and X in particular. As the camera flashes went off and the crowd cheered and hooted, we all prayed that it would be India that would lay their hands on this beautiful trophy. The drone show closed with the flags of the two finalists, India and South Africa, waving gently above the stadium, ending on a note of pride and patriotism for supporters of both sides.
Integrated Drone Show at Women’s World Cup 2025
Unknown to many people, the drone show that BotLab Dynamics performed at the Women’s World Cup 2025 was a unique one. It is only the third ever integrated drone show that has happened in India! Introduced and developed by BotLab Dynamics, no other drone show company in India currently has the capability to perform this level of integration. The show was accompanied at key moments by fireworks, changing stage lighting and sync with LED screen visuals. This precise time-coded synchronization is new to Indian live events, and the first show of this kind happened only 2 months ago for the Anirudh Ravichander Hukum Tour finale in Chennai! That integrated show was also performed by BotLab Dynamics in collaboration with Pixadoo, and it pushed the envelope of live entertainment in a big way.
Drone Light Shows at Sports Events
Sporting events are becoming bigger than the simple act of two teams facing off against each other, with one emerging the victor in a battle of human spirit and excellence. Considering the huge attention that these marquee events generate, they become unmissable opportunities for advertisers and sponsors to grab public attention by creating moments of brand recall that actually leave a lasting impression. Event organisers also go bigger and better every year, attempting to create an experience that taps into the passion and energy of a stadium full of raucous spectators. This is where drone light shows come into play.
How Drone Shows Captivate Stadiums and Spotlight Sponsors
Most live performances do not have an answer to the simple fact that they need to cater to a 360-degree field of view in a stadium. All the artists end up as faces on the stadium screens, which takes away from the unique energy and immersiveness of a live event performance. A drone show, on the other hand, takes over the entire sky, right in the middle of the circular stadium. The massive scale of the show means that it is visible to every spectator in the stadium, and further, to people even 5-7 km outside it! This creates a truly shared celebration, curating an immersive experience that every single spectator is sure to record, post about and talk about long after the drones have landed.
It is the perfect medium for the title sponsor of the event to shine. A drone show creates a highlight moment for an event sponsor that literally soars above the sea of sponsors at big sports events. But the impact of the drone light show goes even further! A drone light show is such a niche technology and such a powerful storytelling tool that every audience member is guaranteed to record the show and post it, creating a flood of striking, scroll-stopping images and videos online that get the sponsor/advertiser significant extra publicity with minimal extra investment.
