Delhi celebrated Diwali with a grand drone show spectacle at India Gate in a stunning celebration that brought together technology and tradition. The India Gate Diwali drone show took over the night sky, creating a festive experience that was enjoyed by everyone in a 6-kilometre radius. This was a tech-powered celebration of tradition that Delhi had never witnessed at this scale before!

Delhi Tourism Diwali Celebration 2025

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta was the chief guest at the grand gala that was Diwali at India Gate. The Kartavya Path was lined with thousands of lit diyas, much like how the kingdom of Ayodhya of yore must have celebrated when Lord Ram finally came home after 14 years of exile. The program began with an energetic address by the Delhi CM, and a Bharatanatyam performance by a dance troupe. Giant LED screens showcased a short film on Delhi’s Diwali as well. A laser show lit up the sky next, another technological integration set to the tune of Diwali music. The drone light show at India Gate narrated the story of the Ramayana, our most revered epic, with drone-powered storytelling, bringing both aspects of today’s India together in one glorious celebration. As the fleet of 1000 drones rose into the air behind India Gate, a booming voice also rang out - “Main hoon Anjaniputra Hanuman” ("I am Anjani’s son Hanuman”). This began the age-old tale of Ramayana from a fresh perspective - through the eyes of Lord Hanuman, the greatest of Lord Ram’s devotees. To the great delight of the thousands gathered at India Gate, the voice, that seemed to be coming from the heavens themselves, then began narrating Lord Ram’s story from his birth to his final battle with Ravan, and finally, his homecoming.

The first image was of the narrator himself, Lord Hanuman, hands joined in prayer surrounded by the divine word of “Ram”. The story began of course from Lord Ram’s birth - Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, to depict which the drones created a magnificent 3D rendition of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Everyone’s beloved Ram Lalla, whose idol is at the core of the temple, appeared next in the skies, recreated in perfect detail in the drone show. This formation was an instant crowd favourite!

Next, the warrior side of Lord Ram leapt into the night sky above India Gate, wielding his legendary bow and arrows. It was time to depict the greatest battle of all, between two great warriors, the epitome of the enduring struggle between good and evil. On one side was Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, while on the other was the ten-headed demon king Ravan. The arrow found its mark, and Ravan disintegrated into a thousand points of light!

The aftermath of the battle was portrayed next via drone show, with Lord Hanuman seated at Lord Ram’s feet. The godly voice described the nature of Lord Ram after the battle - victorious but never arrogant. It was then time for the rightful Ayodhya king’s homecoming. The drones even formed the visage of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh blessing the gathered Diwali crowd - wisdom and wealth together. The India Gate Diwali drone show ended with the image of a happy family, dressed up in traditional clothes, with lanterns floating all around them, celebrating together. The message of Shubh Deepawali lit up the sky, as Delhi Tourism wished all of Delhi a happy and prosperous Diwali.
